"All comedians are, in a way, anarchists. Our job is to make fun of the existing world."

Apparently if you're famous, make music for a living, and have a pretty penny spend on impossibly fine Italian lambskin it is. Hedi Slimane's inaugural menswear rollout for Saint Laurent came quietly (as in, no runway show, no splashy launch event) but instantly established a new code of cool kid aesthetics for the house, built upon select key pieces. Those quick-to-become iconic (and nearly sell out) items are now part of the brand's Permanent Collection, which includes the slick leather moto jacket you see here. While it's par for the course for a shoe or bag to hit "it" status in womenswear, that benchmark is rare for guys, and even more so when it's a luxury piece like this--so we have to tip our hat to Slimane for perfecting the, um, Perfecto. It also makes sense that Slimane's musical design influences would find their way back to the source, therefore it's not surprising that some of the most stylish gents in the business (Jamie Hince, Adam Levine) have taken to wearing the jacket like a second skin.

Ralph Lauren's rugged, vintage-inspired denim label for the masses is finally getting a home of its own. Previously only sold across the U.S. in Macy's locations, the brand recently opened two well-stocked D & S boutiques in Boston and NYC. Each location evokes the spirit of an artist's loft (think exposed concrete walls and beams plastered with vintage posters and photos, rustic fixtures) and are chock full of buy-it-now, wear-it-now pieces that run of the gamut from endless essential denim to safari and army-influenced gear with tribal touches. Denim & Supply's NYC location, seen above and after the jump, opens its doors today in the old Rugby space (single tear) and from the seemingly endless amount of inspiringly rigged-up mannequin forms to the considered decor, it's a shop that's clearly belongs in the RL universe. But as impressively built out as the store is, what's even better is that it's loaded with just-as-impressive merchandise that more often than not belies the price tags attached.

Our best dressed call out from last night's festivities is the man who's currently on the big screen as Mr. Spock and always knows his way around a well-cut suit: Zachary Quinto. The actor's Cannes appearance didn't stray from his usual M.O., injecting run of the mill red carpet rigs with personality-filled flourishes. In last night's Alexander McQueen DB tuxedo, that meant some eye-catching tonal patterned lapels, a skull print bow tie, and down below, some killer double monkstraps that prove not all formal footwear needs to come in patent leather.
Check out Quinto's full look and every other so far in our 2013 Cannes Film Festival Style Report.

Obama's former classmate Kelli Allman dug up the photo of POTUS' senior prom, shown in this week's TIME magazine, that proves even back in high school our nation's leader had more swagger than most. A white sports jacket may not be the first thing guys think of today when prepping for the big night, but as Obama shows, it definitely sets you apart from the crowd. Steal POTUS' style for your prom with some GQ-approved, wallet-friendly white and ivory dinner jackets after the jump...
